Rockets and Real Estate: How the Space Industry Drives Brevard Home Values
While parts of Florida's Gulf Coast saw home values fall this year, Brevard held steady. A big reason is what's happening at the Cape.
A record year for launches
The Space Coast hosted a record 109 launches in 2025, breaking the old record of 93. The 45th Space Launch Delta planned for 100 to 120 launches in 2026, and industry leaders talk about as many as 300 a year by 2035. The Department of the Air Force has also put about $800 million toward Space Coast launch infrastructure.
Jobs that bring buyers
Every rocket needs people to build, test, launch and recover it. Recent announcements include:
- Lockheed Martin: A $140 million facility in Titusville, expected to add about 300 high-paying jobs.
- Relativity Space: A $350 million project at Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville.
- Blue Origin: Continued manufacturing and operations investment that has doubled its Brevard footprint.
- CesiumAstro: A $25 million Melbourne expansion expected to bring about 100 jobs.
Add SpaceX, United Launch Alliance, NASA, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman and Patrick Space Force Base, and Brevard has one of the deepest aerospace job bases in the country.
Where aerospace buyers are looking
- North Brevard (Titusville, Port St. John, Mims): Shortest commute to Kennedy Space Center. These are now some of the tightest markets in the county.
- Merritt Island: Close to both KSC and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, with waterfront options.
- Viera and Suntree: Popular with relocating engineers and managers who want newer homes and strong schools.
- Melbourne and Palm Bay: Close to L3Harris, Northrop Grumman and the Melbourne airport tech corridor.
What it means for you
Job growth puts a floor under home values. If you're selling near KSC or the Melbourne tech corridor, relocating buyers are a big part of your market. If you're relocating, start your search with your commute, then work outward.
